Bengaluru, April 14 -- Warning that the voice of southern states could be stifled in Parliament under the proposed expansion of Lok Sabha seats, Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Tuesday called for a united resistance, saying the move would disproportionately favour northern states and alter the federal balance.
In a letter to Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Reddy flagged the reported plan to increase Lok Sabha seats to around 850 using a population-based pro rata formula, arguing that it would widen the political gap between states and dilute the relative influence of the South.
