Hyderabad, Sept. 28 -- Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has said that the state government is committed to freeing ponds, widening canals and reviving the Musi river, which has now turned into a cesspool.
Inaugurating the Bathukamma Kunta tank in Amberpet on Sunday evening, the Chief Minister said the true spirit of Bathukamma festival lies in sharing happiness with girls and children. Paying tribute to senior Congress leader V. Hanumantha Rao, he recalled his relentless fight for Bathukamma Kunta and directed officials to consider naming the tank after him, as suggested by local MLA Kaleru Venkatesh.
