Hyderabad, March 17 -- Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy reaffirmed his commitment to securing 42 percent reservation for Backward Classes (BCs) while addressing the Legislative Assembly.

He highlighted that the Congress had promised this increase during its election campaign, with Rahul Gandhi pledging to raise BC reservations to 42 percent if the party came to power.

CM Revanth Reddy announced that his government initiated the BC caste census on February 4, 2024, to ensure accurate data for implementing this enhanced reservation. He thanked all those who participated in the survey and emphasised that there is a broad consensus in Telangana society regarding increased BC reservations.
