Hyderabad, July 30 -- Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has directed officials to initiate major reforms in the power sector, including the creation of a new electricity distribution company (DISCOM) in Telangana.

The announcement came during a high-level review meeting held at his residence in Jubilee Hills, where he assessed the current state of the energy sector.

The Chief Minister instructed officials to proceed with the formation of the new DISCOM and ensure that it plays a central role in delivering free power to farmers, 200 units of free electricity to households, and free electricity to schools and colleges.
