Hyderabad, Nov. 25 -- The Telangana Cabinet on Tuesday approved a series of key decisions, including the expansion of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) by merging 27 urban local bodies located within and around the Outer Ring Road (ORR).
Briefing the media after the Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, Industries and IT Minister D Sridhar Babu said all municipalities and corporations falling under the Hyderabad Telangana Core Urban Area will be merged with GHMC. The Cabinet also approved amendments to the GHMC Act and the Telangana Municipal Act to facilitate the merger.
