Hyderabad, Nov. 14 -- The Congress has extended its lead to 9,559 votes in the Jubilee Hills Assembly by-election after four of the ten rounds of counting were completed on Friday.
For Congress, winning the Jubilee Hills Assembly seat is important as it offers an opportunity to strengthen its urban presence and validate its governance model since coming to power.
By the end of the fourth round, Congress candidate Naveen Yadav had secured 38,566 votes. BRS nominee Maganti Sunitha Gopinath followed with 29,007 votes, while BJP candidate Lankala Deepak Reddy had polled 7,296 votes.
Counting began at 0800 hours at the DRC Centre located in Kotla Vijayabhaskar Reddy Indoor Stadium, Yousufguda.
