Hyderabad, June 25 -- The Telangana unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has strongly welcomed the Telangana High Court's directive to the state government to conduct long-pending local body elections within three months.
Terming the order a "tight slap on the knuckles" of the Congress-led Revanth Reddy government, the BJP said the verdict reflects growing public and judicial frustration over the state's delay in upholding democratic processes.
Addressing the media at the BJP state office, Chief Spokesperson and Media In-charge N V Subash accused the Congress government of deliberately postponing the elections out of fear of public backlash.
