Hyderabad, July 12 -- Following the Telangana State Cabinet's landmark decision to provide 42 per cent reservation for Backward Classes (BCs) in local body elections through an ordinance, the Telangana Commission for Backward Classes held a crucial consultation meeting with BC intellectuals at its office in Khairatabad on Saturday.
The meeting focused on gathering suggestions, opinions, and expert advice from BC intellectuals regarding the implementation of the enhanced reservation quota. Participants engaged in detailed discussions about the necessary steps to operationalise the decision, potential legal and administrative challenges, and the strategic roadmap the government should follow to ensure effective implementation.
