Hyderabad, Jan. 2 -- The Telangana Legislative Assembly on Friday, unanimously passed a resolution demanding the continuation of the original Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS).

The House termed the recently passed Viksit Bharat Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) (VB-G RAM G) Act deteriminetal to the rights of the poor.

The resolution moved by Chief Minister a Revanth Reddy, was passed unanimously by a voice vote.

The resolution demanded the immediate withdrawal of the new framework and the restoration of the original, demand-driven, and rights-based MGNREGA scheme.
