Hyderabad, Jan. 3 -- The Telangana Legislative Assembly on Friday passed five significant bills aimed at strengthening urban governance and accelerating planned development across the state.
Apart from the three municipal amendment Bills, after a brief discussion, on the merger of 27 urban local bodies within and outside the Outer Ring Road, increase of GHMC wards from 150 to 300, the House also passed the Telangana Private Universities Amendment Bill and the Telangana Motor Vehicle Taxation Bill with a voice vote.
A major component of the legislation focuses on restructuring the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC).
