Hyderabad, Aug. 31 -- The Telangana Legislative Assembly on Sunday approved the long-awaited BC Reservation Bill, lifting the cap imposed by the previous government and paving the way for 42 per cent reservation for Backward Classes in panchayats.

The Bill, which has triggered wide discussion across the state, was introduced and piloted by Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Danasari Anasuya Seethakka, who gave herassent in the House.
