Hyderabad, Nov. 10 -- Renowned poet and lyricist Andesri, best known for composing the Telangana state anthem Jaya Jayahe Telangana, passed away on Monday.
He was 64 and is survived by three daughters and a son.
According to family members, he collapsed suddenly at home in Lalapet and was rushed to Gandhi Hospital, where he died while undergoing treatment.
Born on July 18, 1961, in Rebarthi village of Maddur mandal in the then Warangal district (present-day Siddipet), Andesri's real name was Ande Ellanna. Despite having no formal education, he emerged as a widely respected poet and cultural voice. He initially worked as a construction labourer and later gained recognition with his popular song Mayamai Pukhadamma Manishannavadu.
