Hyderabad, Dec. 28 -- Sigachi Industries Limited Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Amit Raj Sinha has been arrested in connection with the explosion in Sigachi's manufacturing plant in Sanga Reddy district on June 30 this year that left 54 people dead and 25 injured.
Sinha who was named as accused No.2 in the case booked over the incident was arrested on Saturday, police said here on Sunday.
In a statement today, the company informed stakeholders that the police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against Sinha, and others in connection with the recent fire incident at the company's facility.
The FIR has been filed under certain provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
