Tejasvi Surya moves HC over secret metro fare report
Bengaluru, July 6 -- BJP MP and Bengaluru South representative, Tejasvi Surya, has filed a writ petition in the Karnataka High Court against what he calls the "arbitrary and opaque" conduct of the state government and Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL).
The petition is scheduled to be heard tomorrow.
At the heart of the legal challenge is the government's decision to keep the Metro Fare Fixation Committee (FFC) report confidential.
The report, which is believed to recommend a steep 130 percent hike in Bengaluru Metro fares, has not been released publicly despite multiple demands, RTI filings, and widespread concern over rising commuter costs.
