Bengaluru, Oct. 10 -- BJP MP Tejasvi Surya has raised serious concerns over the proposed Namma Metro fare revision, warning that commuters could face increases of up to 82% on frequently used routes, a move he described as unreasonable and financially burdensome for daily travellers.

In a detailed letter addressed to BMRCL Managing Director Dr J Ravishankar, Surya highlighted multiple anomalies in the 1st Fare Fixation Committee report, which recommended a steep overall fare hike of 105%. The report, originally dated December 16, 2024, was made publicly available on September 11, 2025, following intervention by the Karnataka High Court.
