Bengaluru, Dec. 2 -- Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya today said India is making rapid progress towards sustainable mobility under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, with Bengaluru emerging as one of the biggest beneficiaries of the Centre's electric mobility push.
Responding to a question raised by him in the Lok Sabha, the government informed that more than 21,000 electric buses have been awarded across the country under the FAME schemes and the PM E-Drive initiative. Of these, over 5,700 buses have been allocated to Bengaluru, and 1,221 have already been operationalised.
