Patna, Feb. 23 -- Senior RJD leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav on Sunday slammed BJP for litigation over 65 percent reservation to Backwards, Extremely Backward Classes (BCs) (EBCs) , Scheduled Castes (SCs) and Scheduled Tribes (STs) in government services in Bihar.
Yadav while addressing a function organised to mark birth anniversary of Saint Ravidas, said that when RJD was ruling partner, Grand Alliance government had increased the reservation limit to 65 percent from 49 percent for EBCs, BCs SCs and STs in government services.
A proposal was sent by the then Grand Alliance government of Bihar to Centre requesting to place the new reservation provision in 9th schedule of the constitution to insulate it from judicial review, he added.
