Patna, Sept. 14 -- Leader of the opposition in Bihar assembly Tejashwi Prasad Yadav today made lofty promises to doctors and medical staff before state assembly elections.

Yadav while addressing a conference organised by medical cell of his party here said that he had taken a number of steps for recruitment against vacant posts in several departments of the state, while he was in power during the regime of Grand Alliance government headed by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

In Health department, he had prepared proposal for recruitment of more than 1.5 lakh doctors and medical staff under proposed Public Health Cadre, but Chief Minister Kumar refused to give his nod, he pointed out.
