Ranchi, Dec. 20 -- The Teachers Federation of India has urged the union government to review the mandatory Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) requirement in light of a recent judicial order, warning that it has put the jobs and promotions of lakhs of teachers across the country at risk.

The delegation met union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan in New Delhi on Friday, seeking an early and positive resolution.

The federation informed the minister that teachers appointed and currently in service prior to the implementation of the Right to Education (RTE) Act are aggrieved by the September 1, 2025 order of the Supreme Court of India mandating TET qualification.
