Damoh, May 16 -- Unidentified miscreants robbed a teacher of Rs 4 lakh and set him on fire in Damoh district of Madhya Pradesh. The severely burnt teacher was rushed to the hospital by his family members, where he was declared dead, police said on Friday.



According to Pathari SDPO Raghu Kesari, the teacher, Rajesh Tripathi, 47, a primary school teacher at Rusando government school, was returning to his village Sunwaha on Thursday night from Hata after collecting the amount.

The miscreants stopped his bike near the canal between Hart and Baroda, looted the money, and after beating him, doused him with petrol and set him on fire.
