Gadchiroli, Dec. 11 -- A 42-year-old school teacher died on the spot today after her scooter slipped and she came under the wheels of a reversing cargo truck, police said.

The accident occurred around 8:15 a.m. in the morning in front of B-Fashion Plaza on the Dhanora Road in Maharashtra's Gadchiroli district.

The victim has been identified as Mamta Dharmaji Bambole, a resident of Porla in Gadchiroli taluka and a teacher at Carmel High School.

She was commuting to work on her scooter when she encountered a cargo truck reversing ahead of her.

According to preliminary information, she applied sudden brakes, causing the vehicle to skid. She fell and was run over by the truck.
