Krishnagar, March 27 -- A teacher assigned election duty was allegedly assaulted on Friday by government officials during a poll training session at Debnath Institution for Boys in Ranaghat-I block, sparking political outrage and administrative scrutiny.
Saikat Chattopadhyay, the complainant, claimed he was confined in a room and beaten by staff, allegedly led by the Block Development Officer (BDO), after protesting the screening of a video showing state government development projects, including the Jagannath temple construction in Digha. According to him, the visuals violated the Model Code of Conduct.
