Itanagar, June 12 -- In a proactive move to boost tourism while maintaining national security, newly posted Tawang Deputy Commissioner Namgyal Angmo on Thursday chaired a high-level meeting with key stakeholders from the tourism sector and law enforcement agencies, with special focus on the regulation of foreign tourist movement in sensitive areas.
The meeting focused on streamlining the movement of foreign tourists in sensitive areas of the district. Concerns were raised by tourism stakeholders regarding the lack of uniform guidelines for foreign tourist visits, particularly in high-interest yet ecologically and strategically sensitive zones.
