New Delhi, July 21 -- BJP president J P Nadda on Tuesday condoled the demise of Madhya Pradesh Governor Lalji Tandon and said this was an irreparable loss to the saffron party.
''I am shocked at the demise of Shri Lalji Tandon, the Governor of Madhya Pradesh and senior BJP leader. He devoted his life for the service of the nation. This is an irreparable loss for the BJP,'' Mr Nadda said in his tweet.
May God bless the saintly soul and give strength to the bereaved family to bear the loss, he said.
Tandon, a former Lucknow MP, passed away in the Uttar Pradesh Capital this morning after a prolonged illness. He was 85.
Tandon was admitted to the Medanta hospital in mid June and was critical thereafter. His Covid-19 test was also negative.
