Kabul, Sept. 9 -- Tajikistan has sent more than 3,000 tons humanitarian assistance to quake-hit people in Afghanistan, reported the state-run Radio and Television of Afghanistan (RTA) on Tuesday.

"Tajikistan has delivered more than 3,000 tons of humanitarian aid to support victims of the recent earthquake that struck eastern Afghanistan," according to the RTA.

The assistance, which includes 24 types of essential food and non-food items, was sent to Afghanistan on Monday, it added.

Earlier, several countries, including China, Qatar, Pakistan, Iran, India, Uzbekistan and others, have sent humanitarian assistance, including foodstuff, tents, blankets and medicine to help the quake-affected people in Afghanistan.
