New Delhi, Jan. 9 -- In a major push to improve connectivity and travel efficiency, Indian Railways under the Timetable of Trains (TAG) 2026 has rolled out a series of network upgrades, including the introduction of new trains, extension of existing services, increased frequencies, conversion of select trains to Superfast category, and faster running times across multiple railway zones.
In the Central Railway (CR) zone alone, four new trains have been introduced, six services extended, and 30 trains sped up. The East Coast Railway (ECOR) has seen the introduction of four new trains, extension of four trains, and three trains sped up, a statement from the ministry read.
