Chhindwara, Oct. 13 -- Madhya Pradesh's former Chief Minister and Congress leader Kamal Nath said the state government should provide a higher amount of assistance to the families whose children died after consuming poisonous cough syrup.
Nath arrived here on a two-day visit and yesterday met the kin of the deceased children at Parasia, where he also addressed a press conference.
"This is an extremely sad and worrisome sequence of events, for which I hold the state government responsible. The medicines should have been tested, but the regime failed to do so.
