Paris, June 3 -- World No.1 Aryna Sabalenka and defending champion Iga Swiatek are set for a high-voltage semifinal showdown at Roland Garros 2025, after both stormed into the last four with commanding victories on Tuesday.
Sabalenka overcame China's Zheng Qinwen 7-6(3), 6-3 in tricky conditions earlier in the day, before Swiatek followed suit with a 6-1, 7-5 triumph over Ukraine's Elina Svitolina in the second quarterfinal on a packed Philippe Chatrier.
The Swiatek-Sabalenka clash, a rematch of last year's gripping semifinal, promises fireworks as the top two seeds continue their dominant runs on the Paris clay. Both players are in peak form, and the Thursday duel is already being billed as a potential title decider.
