London, July 12 -- Iga Swiatek of Poland captured her first Wimbledon crown, beating Amanda Anisimova of the United States 6-0, 6-0 in today's women's singles final.

Swiatek, 24, who has five other Grand Slam singles titles, was playing in her first Wimbledon final and added the grass-court Grand Slam to her 2022 US Open and four French Open titles.

With the victory, Swiatek is set to rise to third place in the world rankings.
