New Delhi, July 2 -- As climate change poses mounting threats to public health and rural infrastructure, the Ministry of Jal Shakti, in collaboration with UNICEF, has launched a new set of protocols aimed at enhancing the safety of rural sanitation workers and ensuring climate-resilient sanitation systems.

The announcement was made at a national rural sanitation workshop organised by the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation (DDWS), Ministry of Jal Shakti, and UNICEF, as per a statement here by the Ministry.

The workshop deliberated on the next phase of the Swachh Bharat Mission-Grameen (SBM-G), with a strong emphasis on inclusivity, sustainability, and resilience.
