Kolkata, July 28 -- Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari today said he has written to Election Commissioner of India Gyanesh Kumar alleging a recent directive by the Chief Minister Office (CMO) of West Bengal to all DMs and SDMs in nine border districts to issue a large number of domicile certificates (DCs) to "manipulate" voter lists.
Adhikari claimed that over 70,000 Form-6 applications have been submitted on average in the last week, a sharp rise from the usual 20,000-25,000, especially in Coochbehar, Alipurduar, Jalpaiguri, Malda,, North Dinajpur, Murshidabad, Nadia, and North 24 Parganas and south 24 Parganas districts, all have borders with Bangladesh.
