Siliguri, Oct. 7 -- Leader of the Opposition Suvendu Adhikari today said he along with union minister Kiren Rijiju will visit Mirik, the worst affected area where 11 people were kille when the flood and landslips struck in Darjeeling on Sunday.
Adhikari said they would make all attempts to reach Mirik and assess the situation after talking to the people who have been rendered homeless after several homes were flattened.
Adhikari said they had already sought permission from the police to allow them to visit Mirik. "But I heard the authorities have already made a one-way trip to Mirik and may prevent them from proceeding, but we will make all attempts to be there," Adhikari said.
