Deoria (UP), May 1 -- A suspected patient of monkeypox has been detected in Deoria district here in Uttar Pradesh.
The doctors of the medical college have referred him to Gorakhpur Medical College for better treatment and investigation, a health department official said here on Thursday.
Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr Anil Kumar Gupta said that Gyan Ratan, a resident of village Pachrukhiya of Bhatpar Rani area, had returned from Dubai on April 26. "He was brought to Deoria Medical College when his health deteriorated. After preliminary examination, the doctors suspected monkeypox and started his treatment by keeping him in isolation in a special ward," he said.
