Bengaluru, Oct. 26 -- Lok Sabha MP Tejasvi Surya today sought a meeting with the state government to present an alternative plan for addressing Bengaluru's traffic woes and to express his opposition to the proposed tunnel road project.

Speaking to the media, Surya said the opposition to the tunnel road extends beyond environmental concerns at Lalbagh and Sankey Tank.

"This project will not solve the core issue of Bengaluru's congestion, which is the over-reliance on private vehicles. What the city needs is a comprehensive urban mobility plan that reduces private vehicles and increases public transport adoption," he stated.
