Agartala, Feb. 25 -- A group of surrendered militants on Tuesday launched a 24-hour national highway blockade at the foothills of Baramura, pressing for their 21-point charter of demands.
The protest began early in the morning in multiple locations, including Bishramganj, Amarpur, Hezamara, and Khowai Chowmuhani, besides Baramura on NH 108.
Daniel Debbarma, a leader of the protestors, stated that the blockade would continue till Wednesday morning in the initial phase; if the demands were not met, they would resort to intensified protests in the coming days.
