Thiruvananthapuram, May 31 -- Commandant Suresh R Kurup assumed the Command of Indian Coast Guard Station, Vizhinjam, from Commandant Sreekumar G who is superannuating from service, in a command change ceremony held at the station on Saturday.

Commandant Suresh R Kurup, who hails from Pandalam is from the 22nd batch of Officers of Indian Coast Guard and was commissioned in 1994. He graduated in BSc Physics from NSS College, Pandalam and completed MBA from ICFAI University Hyderabad.

Commandant Suresh R Kurup on assuming command stated that he will give thrust to operational effectiveness and strengthening coastal security in the Region.
