Tumakuru, June 1 -- Amid intensifying protests over the Hemavathi water-link issue, BJP leader and MLA Suresh Gowda on Sunday launched a scathing attack on the state government for reportedly filing FIRs against agitating farmers, declaring that no amount of legal action would deter the movement. Speaking to reporters here, Gowda dared the government to "file a hundred FIRs" and even "open fire" if that was the only language it understood. "Let them throw us in jail.
