Chandigarh, Nov. 8 -- The Supreme Court of India will on November 10 hear a petition filed by MP and pro-Khalistan leader Amritpal Singh challenging the extension of the National Security Act (NSA) against him for the third time.

Currently lodged in Assam's Dibrugarh Jail, Amritpal Singh, MP from Khadoor Sahib, has also sought permission to attend the upcoming Parliament sessions.

In his petition, Amritpal has made the union Government, the Punjab Government, the Amritsar Deputy Commissioner, SSP (Rural), and the Dibrugarh Jail Superintendent, respondents. His counsel has argued that the repeated imposition of the NSA violates his personal liberty and democratic rights, and urged the court to revoke his detention.
