Mumbai, Jan. 31 -- Sunetra Pawar was sworn in as Maharashtra's first woman Deputy Chief Minister on Saturday, January 31, 2026, marking a historic moment in the state's political history following the death of her husband, Nationalist Congress Party leader and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.

The oath of office and secrecy was administered by the Governor at a small ceremony held at Raj Bhavan, here.
