Mumbai, April 19 -- Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) President Sunetra Pawar has launched a scathing attack on the opposition after the 131st Constitutional Amendment Bill, which proposed 33 percent reservation for women in legislative bodies, failed to pass in the Lok Sabha.

Terming the day a "shameful moment for Indian democracy," Pawar accused the opposition of harboring an anti-women mindset and sabotaging the rights of women under the guise of political maneuvering.
