Pune, March 29 -- In a significant political statement, MLA Sunil Shelke has said that he would welcome the unification of the two factions of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) under the leadership of Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar.

He asserted that the time for reconciliation has not yet passed and expressed optimism about a possible merger.

Shelke noted that the absence of Ajit Pawar, fondly referred to as "Dada," is being strongly felt in party functioning following his accidental demise. He claimed that discussions have taken place among leaders from the faction led by Sharad Pawar regarding reunification, and that meetings with key leaders had already occurred.
