Dharamsala (HP), Jan. 10 -- BJP leader Bikram Thakur on Friday alleged that the Himachal Pradesh government had once again exposed its "anti-democratic mindset" by questioning the High Court's order directing conduct of panchayat elections and indicating its intent to approach the Supreme Court.
Reacting to the High Court's strong observations while rejecting the state government's move to defer panchayat polls, Thakur said the Sukhu government respects the judiciary only when verdicts go in its favour, but raises questions when rulings are adverse.
He termed this attitude not only contemptuous of the court but also a dangerous attempt to weaken constitutional institutions.
