Chandigarh, Dec. 18 -- Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal is scheduled to visit Khanna in Ludhiana district on Wednesday amid growing political tension over the arrest of a party leader during the counting of Panchayat Samiti and Zila Parishad elections.
Badal is expected to meet the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) in Khanna to discuss the detention of SAD constituency in-charge Yadvinder Singh Yadu, who was taken into custody from a counting centre. Police have registered a case against Yadu and several of his associates, and they are likely to be produced before a local court later in the day.
