Sujanpur Tira(HP), Dec. 10 -- The Sujanpur Tira police have registered a case under Sections 379, 420, 468, and 120-B of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) against Ashish Sharma, BJP MLA from Hamirpur.
The case pertains to alleged illegal activities at the Mahadev stone crusher, owned by the MLA.
Sharma has secured interim bail in the matter, with the next hearing scheduled for December 10.
It is alleged that the unit carried out illegal mining and siphoned off royalty worth over Rs 36.60 lakh. The accusations also include misuse of 'X' and 'W' forms to sell mined material. The state permits two types of mining: direct sale of extracted material and extraction followed by crushing before sale.
