Puri, Feb. 25 -- On the occasion of Maha Shivaratri, renowned sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik has created a sand sculpture featuring 144 Shiva Lingas and 144 Kumbhas at Puri Beach in Odisha on Tuesday.
Pattnaik has sculpted a six-feet-high sand artwork of Lord Shiva.
Since the Maha Kumbh appears at Prayagraj after 144 years, Pattnaik incorporated 144 small Shiva Lingas and 144 Kumbhas into the sculpture.
He used approximately eight tons of sand for the artwork, with students from his sand art institute joining hands with him to complete the sculpture.
Pattnaik stated that, as the Maha Kumbh, occurring after 144 years, is set to conclude on February 26, he decided to create this sand sculpture at Jagannath Dham on the auspicious occasion o...
