Shillong, March 26 -- Former Meghalaya Chief Secretary Rebecca Vanessa Suchiang on Wednesday was appointed the new state Chief Information Commissioner (CIC) for a term of three years.
State Social Welfare Minister Paul Lyngdoh the decision to appoint Suchiang as the CIC was approved by the cabinet on Wednesday.
Suchiang will be the first woman to be appointed to the post of CIC in Meghalaya.
The CIC post fell vacant following the retirement of Heimonlang Nongpluh on November 14, 2024.
