Lucknow, Feb. 28 -- Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday directed the officials to study the local conditions of the rivers for a permanent solution to the flood problem in the state.

While reviewing flood-related projects, the CM said that wherever there is excess silt in the main stream of the river or its shallows, priority should be given to dredging, and the river should be channelised. "If dredging is not possible to solve the problem, then only embankment or other anti-erosion measures should be adopted," he said.

He directed that proper information about the local conditions should be obtained by conducting drone surveys of all the rivers.
