New Delhi, March 26 -- Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta today highlighted the significance of India's rich cultural heritage and the timeless Gurukul tradition.

Gupta who attended a 'Samavartan Sanskar' and inaugurated the new Yagyashala at the Arsh Gurukul in North West Delhi's Tatesar village, remarked that at present when society seems to be drifting away from its roots in the race for modernity, institutions like the Gurukul, serve as guiding beacons in preserving country's traditions and values.

He said that the day is a matter of pride for the Gurukul family, but also for the broader Sanatan cultural ethos and the country's traditional system of education.
