Hyderabad, Aug. 22 -- Tension prevailed at Sankshema Bhavan on Friday as thousands of students staged a Mahadharna demanding immediate release of pending scholarships and fee reimbursements amounting to nearly Rs 8,000 crore.
Led by BC Students' union President Vemula Ramakrishna, the protesters alleged that the government had neglected the plight of students for the past three years by not clearing dues, forcing many into financial distress. They warned of statewide agitations if the arrears were not settled without delay.
