Itanagar, Aug. 24 -- A devastating fire broke out at the boys' hostel of Papikrong School in Arunachal Pradesh's Shi Yomi district in the early hours of Sunday, claiming the life of one student and injuring three others.
The tragic incident, which occurred between 1:00 and 2:00 am, is suspected to have been caused by a short circuit. The blaze completely destroyed the hostel building, official sources confirmed.
While the charred student is yet to be identified, the injured students - Lukhi Pujen (8), Tanu Pujen (9), and Tayi Pujen (11) - are currently undergoing treatment at the Zonal General Hospital in Aalo, West Siang district.
